Home Traditional Tang Yuan

Since i very small, one day before 'dong zi' my Ah Mah will make tang yuan, she always said:"After eat tang yuan, will grow up one year age."

So i very scared to eat tang yuan, scared later become like Ah Mah that old. But tang yuan really so delicious, it already become one of the 'must-do' food in when the year came to almost the end, to celebrate old year pass, welcome new coming year. Symbolic family union.


1. First, make a flour mix water to make dour

2. Then, can start 'cubit' the ready flour in small small,
put in middle of left palm, cover with right palm,
left palm remain unmove, and start to move your right palm clock wise,
until it become small small round tang yuan

3. Than put on mahjong paper, let the paper soak the floar water,
let it normal dry before cook

4. Boil water, drop all the dry tang yuan into it

5. prepare some drinking water, after the tang yuan floating in the boil water,
take it up and drop in the drinking water.
(Like spagetti, to remain the bite of 'toi-yiong')

6. Prepare some sugar water, take up the tang yuan from the drinking water,
mix it with sugar water,
Yeah~finally, can eat liao lo...
